Так понимаю, что ещё они читали Курочку Рябу, и больше всё. Ну, может быть, Ле Гуин, что ли.

С музыкой та ж фигня, мне кажется; в великие композиторы записаны Меркури и БГ. Ну, может быть, ещё Равель, у него Болеро годится как аккомпанемент к сексу.

А вот пишут, как Люди Доброй Воли чтут память жертв теракта в Сиднее. Как и положено ЛДВ. Например, про одного так пишут: "it was simply a catastrophic case of being in the wrong place and at the wrong time."

Вы скажете, это чистая правда - и это так. Все жертвы терактов - в отличие от покушений, или военных действий, например - просто оказались в неправильном месте в неправильное время. Террористы их убили не потому, что они хотели убить лично этих людей, а - потому что хотели убить кого-нибудь.

Но я не привёл полную цитату. Там ещё было в начале немного, всего шесть букв. Вот такие: "For him". Видите ли, этот человек - Peter Meagher, - не был евреем. Поэтому для него - и только для него! - это была катастрофическая случайность. А для всех остальных, евреев - с точки зрения людей доброй воли - вполне закономерное, хотя, возможно, и прискорбное, событие. Евреи есть, евреев убивают, что тут удивительного? Тогдашний праздник празднован был точно так, как праздновали праздники в деревнях наши старики и предки. За обедами и за ужинами гуляли чарочки, рюмки и стаканы, а нередко гуляли они по рукам и в прочее время; старички наши вставали оттого из-за стола подгулявши, и они праздновали у нас дня с три или более. Мать моя любила гостей угащивать, и все гости во все сие время были веселы и довольны. По утрам у нас обыкновенно бывали праздничные завтраки, там обеды и за ними потчивание; там закуски и заедки; после того чай, а там ужины. Спали все на земле повал кою, а поутру проснувшись, принимались опять за еду и прочее тому подобное.

NYT: Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's Government Allowed Corruption to Fester

В последнее время NYT поражает нас небывалой (для партийной газеты) смелостью. То выясняется - и года не прошло! - что Байден вовсе не идеален в плане иммиграции. Это хотя бы понятно почему - в конце концов, дедушка старый, пользы из него уже не извлечь даже усилиями наилучших фармацевтов. На кого ещё свалить, как не на него? И заодно избежать никому не нужных и не интересных вопросов, вроде того, кто всё-таки нажимал на кнопочки автопена. В конце концов, вина автоматически подразумевает субьектность, а значит - вменяемость. И вариант "на престоле каким-то образом оказался Байден, а потом он оказался не отцом, а неизвестно кем, как хорошо, что всё уже позади" - сильно лучше "на престоле сидел слюнявый овощ, а свита тем временем распиливала страну". Особенно если свита хочет продолжать.

Но тут ситуация немного другая. Ничего ещё не позади. И тем не менее вот на тебе. Первое подозрение, что НАБУ, паче чаяния, перекрыло-таки какой-то краник и поломало какие-то важные трубопроводы, обеспечивавшие нужные потоки в нужные карманы. Тайминг-то очень уж хорошо совпадает. И не исключено, что без этих краников и, собственно, с самым большим Краном под контролем Трампа - весь этот проект Партии более не выгоден, а следовательно, и не интересен. И теперь прошивка резко меняется. И если это так, то украинцев, которые искренне верили, что Партия их любит и не бросит, ожидает впереди много нехороших сюрпризов.
